01What you get, and what you don't

What you get

  • Your patch: up to 5 small local areas are included for each trade you do (UK postcode districts or sectors, such as EH6 or OL10 1).
  • One firm per patch, per trade: while your account is active, no other firm can hold your patch for your trade.
  • All main trades are planned: fencing, plastering, roofing, plumbing and other main trades, each with its own local quote site. Tell us your trade or trades by email. Patches are per trade, with up to 5 included for each trade.
  • Each enquiry goes to your firm only. We never send, sell or show it to another firm. The one exception: if you miss the reply deadline, we give you the credit back and only pass that enquiry to one other named firm if the homeowner says yes.
  • First 3 enquiries free. Introductory credits have no cash value.
  • Bad leads: claim within 7 days of the date we sent it, and an accepted claim puts the credit back.
  • Unused paid credit back at any time. No reason is needed, and there's no fee.
  • No minimum term, no subscription, no automatic renewal. You can pause or leave at any time by email.

What you don't get

  • Any promise of a number of enquiries, any work, any job value, or that a homeowner will hire you.
  • A date. No local site is live yet and we run no ads. We can't say when our sites will be live or how many enquiries any patch will get.
  • A whole city or a whole postcode area as a patch (such as Manchester or M). Patches are small local areas.
  • Building work from us. We don't do the work, quote for it or take payment from homeowners. Any contract for work is between you and the homeowner.
  • Any check of registrations or qualifications. We don't check or verify anyone's registrations or qualifications. Each firm must hold any legal registration its work needs (for example, Gas Safe registration for gas work, or a competent person scheme or building control sign-off for notifiable electrical work).

02How it works

  1. Choose your patches

    Up to 5 small local areas are included for each trade you do. Never a whole city.

  2. First 3 enquiries free

    You start with 3 introductory credits. 1 credit = 1 enquiry.

  3. Want more? Buy a pack

    Packs of 5 credits for £100 (£20 each, working price). Credits never expire.

  4. More than 5 patches in a trade?

    Up to 5 are included for each trade. More patches in that trade cost extra: £10 per extra patch, paid once. We agree each extra patch with you by email first.

  5. We send the enquiry

    Once our sites are live, we send enquiries to one firm per patch. A credit is used when we send you an enquiry. Your balance can't go below zero, so you never owe us money.

  6. Reply in time

    Aim to contact the homeowner within 2 working hours, and at the latest within 1 working day (8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, UK time, not counting bank holidays anywhere in the UK). If you miss the latest deadline, we give you the credit back.

  7. Bad lead? Claim

    Claim within 7 days of the date we sent it, with the reference, the reason and your evidence. If we accept it, 1 credit goes back on your balance.

  8. Unused credit back

    Email enquiries@quotelocaltrades.co.uk saying "Please refund my unused credit". We send the refund within 5 working days.

Working price, subject to change before launch. It isn't final. Price changes apply only to credits bought after the change. An extra patch isn't a credit. While no site is live in that patch, you can have the £10 back at any time.

04Before you pay

  1. Read the lead terms, version 0.6 and the bad-lead policy, version 0.6 (refunds and bad leads). You'll need to agree to them.
  2. Tell us your trade or trades and the small local areas you cover: email enquiries@quotelocaltrades.co.uk, or use the "Claim your patch" form on our page for trade firms. We'll email you if we have, or plan, a site for your trade there. Patches are per trade, so tell us the areas for each trade.
  3. Check what you're buying. No local site is live yet, and nothing is promised: no enquiries, no jobs and no date.
  4. Have your public liability insurance certificate ready (at least £1m). We need to see it before your first enquiry.
  5. Make sure you hold any legal registration your work needs. We don't check this for you.
  6. Please wait for our email about your patch and trade before you pay. For an extra patch, we agree it with you by email first, and while no site is live in that patch, you can have the £10 back at any time.

05Pay

What you'd be buying

  • No local site is live yet. We won't send enquiries until our sites are live, and we can't say when that will be.
  • Buying a pack doesn't promise any enquiries, jobs or timing.
  • Your patch: if you pay before any of our sites are live, you hold your patch from the day we confirm it to you by email (lead terms, section 3). Holding a patch doesn't promise that it will get enquiries.
  • The 5-enquiry pack is prepaid credit: 1 credit = 1 enquiry, used only when we send you an enquiry. Credits never expire.
  • Unused credit: "You can have unused paid credit back at any time. No reason is needed, and there's no fee." (lead terms, section 5) We send it within 5 working days of your email.
  • Card refunds go back to the card you paid with. If that isn't possible, we pay you by bank transfer to an account in your business's name, with no fee.
  • An extra patch is £10, paid once, only after we've agreed it with you by email (lead terms, section 3). Paying for a patch doesn't promise that it will get enquiries. While no site is live in that patch, you can have the £10 back at any time, and we send it within 5 working days of your email (lead terms, sections 4 and 5).

06Questions

Can I pay before your sites are live?

Not from this version of the page: payments aren't switched on yet.

Do I have to buy a pack?

No. We start you with 3 introductory credits (first 3 enquiries free). After that, with no credit, enquiries stop until you buy more credit.

Can I have unused credit refunded?

You can have unused paid credit back at any time. No reason is needed, and there's no fee. Introductory credits have no cash value. An extra patch isn't a credit, but while no site is live in that patch, you can have the £10 back at any time: email enquiries@quotelocaltrades.co.uk saying "Please refund my extra patch fee" and name the patch. We send refunds within 5 working days of your email. Card refunds go back to the card you paid with; if that isn't possible, we pay you by bank transfer to an account in your business's name, with no fee.

What if an enquiry is bad?

Claim within 7 days of the date we sent it. Fake or unreachable details, outside your patch, the wrong trade, a duplicate, spam, or a homeowner who never enquired all count. So does no answer after 3 attempts over 2 working days, including a call and an email or text. A homeowner choosing someone else, or objecting to the price, doesn't.

Am I tied in?

No minimum term, no subscription, no automatic renewal. You can pause or leave at any time by email, and unused paid credit is refunded.

Which trades can join?

Our plan covers fencing, plastering, roofing, plumbing and other main trades, each with its own local quote site. None of these sites are live yet. Tell us your trade or trades by email. Patches are per trade: one firm per patch for each trade, and up to 5 included for each trade.

Do you check gas, electrical or other registrations?

No. We don't check or verify anyone's registrations or qualifications. Each firm must hold any legal registration its work needs (for example, Gas Safe registration for gas work, or a competent person scheme or building control sign-off for notifiable electrical work).

Where do you cover?

Our plan is UK-wide, patch by patch, but we don't cover any area yet and no local site is live yet. Our terms follow the law of the part of the UK where your business is based (England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland), and the courts there deal with any dispute. Working days don't count bank holidays anywhere in the UK (England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland).
